Are you curious to know how our new GIS Viewer is better than the old links on the previous website?
The new GIS Viewer takes all the separate mapping tools our community used to rely on and combines them into one powerful, easy‑to‑use platform. Instead of switching between multiple websites and apps, everything you need is now in a single viewer.
This upgraded system lets you quickly find answers to everyday questions like:
📍 Is my parcel in the historic district?
🌳 What environmental layers apply to my area?
🚧 How is my property zoned?
By absorbing so much information into one place, the new GIS Viewer is faster, clearer, and far easier to navigate. It'll save time for anyone exploring Whitewater’s data. 💡✨

The City of Whitewater Water Utility will begin its semi‑annual water main and hydrant flushing program.
📅 April 20 – May 1, 2026
This routine maintenance helps ensure proper hydrant performance, verifies system reliability, and improves overall water quality.
⚠️ What to Expect:
• Temporary water discoloration may occur. If this happens, run a cold-water tap or outdoor spigot at the lowest level of your home until it clears.
• Avoid washing white or light-colored laundry during flushing periods.
• Consider waiting until crews have moved out of your area before using water.
• Flushing may extend into the following week if system repairs are needed.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this important maintenance to keep our water system running safely and efficiently.

Due to the active week of severe weather and that we're still going through and NWS staff doing storm damage surveys, Wisconsin Emergency Management and the NWS have made the decision to cancel the statewide tornado drill, which was set to occur today, April 16th.
If you have plans to go through your severe weather plans, please still go through with them, but know that there will not be official messaging or a Routine Weekly Test that is sent from the NWS. With the recent stretch of severe weather, you all have hopefully had more than enough opportunity to dust those plans off. Sorry for any inconveniences.
🔗Press Release from Wisconsin Emergency Management can be found online or on our Facebook post about the cancelation.
