 Fall Curbside Yard Waste Collection Dates (No Appointment Needed)

Whitewater, Wis. October 2, 2026 - The City of Whitewater - Department of Public Works will collect bagged leaf and yard waste during the established dates.

Place bags on curb no earlier than:

  • Saturday, October 24, for collection during:

    • October 26 – October 30

  • Saturday, November 7, for collection during:

    • November 9 – November 13

    • November 16 – November 20

 Final deadline:

  •  All bags must be at the curb by Wednesday, November 18

  • No spring collection for yard waste left out over winter

Acceptable Yard Waste

  • Leaves, weeds, grass clippings, garden debris

  • Must be in 30-gallon or smaller biodegradable, clear, or transparent bags

  • No black or non-transparent bags will be collected

  • Bio-Bags available (fall only) at the Finance Department

 Do NOT Do This:

  • Do not place any yard waste (other than bagged waste during the October and November designated dates) on streets or right-of-way. (Violation of Ordinance Chapter 12.08 – Street Obstructions)

Missed the Collection? 

  • Dumpster available at the City Garage:

    • 150 E. Starin Road

    • November 23 – December 4

    • Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

    • Closed: November 26–27 (Thanksgiving)

Compost Site Hours

  • Wednesdays through November 18: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

    • Open on November 21, November 28, and December 5, weather dependent.

    • The site will then close for the season.

  • Call by Monday at 12:00 p.m. for Tuesday pick-up
