City of Whitewater CDA Launches Home Renewal Loan Program to Support Property Improvements and Neighborhood Revitalization
Whitewater, WI — [April 20, 2026] — The City of Whitewater CDA is pleased to announce the launch of its new Home Renewal Loan Program, an initiative designed to help homeowners invest in the safety, functionality, and long-term value of their properties.
The program provides accessible, zero percent interest deferred financing to eligible homeowners for a range of home improvement projects, including structural repairs, energy efficiency upgrades, and accessibility modifications. By reducing financial barriers to critical repairs, the City aims to support residents while strengthening neighborhoods across the community.
“This program is about helping residents maintain safe, comfortable homes while also preserving the quality and character of our neighborhoods,” said Mason Becker, Community Development Director. “Investing in housing is an investment in the entire community.”
Eligible projects may include:
Roof, siding, and foundation repairs
Heating, plumbing, and electrical system upgrades
Energy efficiency improvements
Accessibility enhancements for aging in place
The Home Renewal Loan Program is open to existing single-family homes or for reconverting previous single-family homes that were converted to multi-tenant units. Because the loans are deferred, repayment is not required until a later date, such as upon sale, transfer, or refinancing of the property.
