1. POLICE DEPARTMENT MUST BE CALLED BEFORE YOU START THE FIRE. (PH #262-473-0555 EXT #4)
2. FIRE MUST BE PHYSCIALLY ATTENDED FOR THE DURATION OF THE BURN, AND FULLY EXTINGUISHED UPON CONCLUSION.
3. THE PROPERTY OWNER WILL BE BILLED $500.00 FOR A FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONSE IN THE EVENT OF: AN ESCAPE OF CONTROLLED BURNED AREA, BEING CALLED IN BY A THIRD PARTY DUE TO BEING UNATTENDED, OR THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY FAILING TO CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO STARTING THE FIRE, AS LISTED ABOVE.
4. Per the City of Whitewater Municipal Code only natural material shall be burned within the city limits. Only wood, brush or coal may be burnt (8.32.010). Any violation of the burn permit may inquire a fee of not less than $25.00 and no more than $250.00 for the first offense and no less than $50.00 and no more than $250.00 for any subsequent offenses (8.32.020).
5. All neighboring properties within 200 feet of the burn site MUST be notified of the burn taking place at said location.
6. All outdoor fires shall be no closer than fifteen feet from any structure or side lot line and ten feet from any rear lot line. There shall be no outdoor fires in front yards or street yards. (8.32.010(b)(1)
