Landmarks Commission
Overview
Created pursuant to Chapter 17.08 of the Municipal Code. The Commission develops criteria and standards for identifying and designating landmarks and landmark sites within the city limits.
The Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Common Council, for a three year term. One of the members shall be a Common Council representative.
*The Birge Fountain Committee was dissolved by common council effective December 8, 2021. All responsibilities for the preservation and support of the Birge Fountain will now be managed by the Landmarks Commission.

- 1st Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm
- City of Whitewater Municipal Building or virtual

As part of a Landmarks Commission outreach, Citizen Representative Dan Richardson contributed to the special edition of Legacy for Kids. The issue has many interesting facts about life in Walworth County for historians of all ages.
