Summerset Marine Construction Submitted Plans for a Large Industrial Development

Whitewater, Wis. June 13, 2023 – Summerset Marine Construction submitted plans for a large industrial development within the Whitewater Business Park.

Since 1990, Summerset has been providing a full range of lakefront services to its customers in Southeastern Wisconsin. Summerset has grown over the years along with its customers’ needs and provides the expertise and products necessary for the perfect waterfront solution. Summerset currently has a 70,000 square foot factory facility in Whitewater, WI with a showroom, office, factory, and warehouse.

Located at the northeast corner of North Prospect and Endeavor Drive, the new 324,000 square foot development would be used as a packaging facility as well as for the associated offices and production.

Chris Bennett, Neighborhood Services Director, shares, “The plans look good, and the building will be an asset in our business park. The company might bring more jobs to Whitewater in the near future.”

The City of Whitewater’s Plan & Architectural Review Commission (PARC) conducted a site plan review at their meeting on June 12, 2023. The preliminary designs were accepted. The next step is for Summerset to apply for building permits.

The internal review by city staff will continue throughout the building process, with engineers and public works personnel ensuring the building and site are constructed in compliance with the city code. The Summerset plans are available for review on the second floor of the municipal building at the Public Works/Neighborhood Services counter.

John Weidl, Whitewater City Manager, shares, “This is just the beginning of the City executing its growth and development plan which includes becoming a resource and establishing a reputation as a one-stop shop for developers looking to locate anywhere in the Walworth and Jefferson County area.”

The City of Whitewater provides efficient and high quality services which support living, learning, playing and working in an exceptional community. Visit www.whitewater-wi.gov for community information and updates.
